第3回関係国会議での現地視察2日目は、世界各国の赤十字・赤新月社の人に学生の視点で福島の現状を伝えるために、福島大学と福島医科大学の学生9人のボランティアに視察の計画・運営に取り組んでいただきました。
視察を終えて学生たちは、「参加者の方々には警戒区域内の光景には強烈な印象を持ち、避難してきた住民の生の声にはテレビを通して見るよりもリアリティを感じてもらえたと思います」、「原子力災害対策関係国赤十字社会議の一環として視察を1日案内させてもらうことによって、とても多くのことを学びました」などの感想を寄せています。
For the field trip on Day 2 of the third Reference Group Meeting on Nuclear & Radiological Emergency Preparedness, the JRCS asked nine college student volunteers from Fukushima University and Fukushima Medical University to plan the trip and act as guides in order to convey the current situation of Fukushima, from their viewpoint, to the Red Cross and Red Crescent members from around the world.
After the trip, the students commented: "We think that what the participants saw in the restricted area left them with a strong impression, and what they directly heard from the people evacuated from their hometown made them feel the real situation in Fukushima more than watching on TV," "We learned a lot of things through guiding the participants as part of the Reference Group Meeting."
