On the occasion of the Fifth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, the Digital Archives published a special webpage to introduce the recovery assistance programs by the Japanese Red Cross Fukushima Chapter.
Many of the evacuees are evacuating dispersedly to inside or outside of Fukushima Prefecture. There is little communication with their new neighbors and communities where they are evacuating. They have no opportunities to see their friends and neighbors of their town where they had lived. From this background, the Fukushima Chapter has organized community reunion events in order to provide opportunities for the evacuees to reunite and regain the relationship they used to enjoy before the earthquake. The municipal governments of the evacuees cooperate in holding the reunion events.
