The Third Reference Group Meeting on Nuclear & Radiological Emergency Preparedness was joined by 16 National Societies and held in Fukushima, the affected area. The objective of the meeting was to discuss preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergencies and the IFRC guidelines. At the beginning of the meeting, Hiroki Tomita, Executive Director General, JRCS Operations Sector, gave welcome remarks.
