国際チェルノブイリ調整委員会（ICCC)の会議がロシア赤十字の療養所で7月に行われた。会議で議論された主なトピックスは、チェルノブイリプログラムの活動・成果・教訓、プログラム活動資金の状況・持続可能性、地域からの資金を増やすための各赤十字社の活動、2008年末以降に連盟が段階的に引き揚げた場合に、各国赤十字社はどのように活動を継続していくか。
各国赤十字社の代表者たちは、地域からの資金を増やすことは極めて難しいことを会議で強調した。しかし、各国赤十字社は2008年以降にプログラムを中止するつもりはない。従って、2つのことを目指すことにした。国際社会からの支援を求めることと、地域からの資金を増加させることである。
Chernobyl Co-ordination Committee (ICCC) meeting was held in July in the Russian Red Cross sanatorium. The main topics discussed in the meeting were; Activities, achievements and lessons learnt from Chernobyl Program, Funding trends/sustainability of the programme, National Society activities regarding further increase of local input , and How are the National Societies going to continue the programme after the Federation’s possible phase out at the end of 2008.
The leaders of the National Societies stressed at the meeting that it was quite difficult to provide an increase of local funding. However the National Societies were not going to close the Programme after 2008. Therefore, it was decided to act both ways: to seek the international support and try to increase the local input.
