チェルノブイリ事故後25年経過したのにもかかわらず、災害による健康への影響は深刻なままである。従って、2012年もチェルノブイリ人道支援プログラム（CHARP）は同じコンセプトに基づいて活動すべきである。国連のチェルノブイリ行動計画に従って、CHARPは少なくとも2016年まで継続すべきである。しかし、国際社会からの支援を得ることが益々困難になって来るかもしれない。従って、IFRCと3か国の赤十字各社は、どのようにして地域からの支援を増やすか、どのようにして各政府の医療制度に徐々に移管して行くかについて検討しなくてはいけない。
in spite of 25 years after Chernobyl accident the health consequences of this disaster remained serious. Therefore in 2012, CHARP (Chernobyl Humanitarian Assistance and Rehabilitation Programme) should operate on same conceptual basis. In accordance with the UN Action Plan on Chernobyl, CHARP should be continued at least until 2016. However it might be more and more difficult to raise international support for the programme. Therefore the IFRC together with the 3 National Societies would have to consider how to further increase local input, and how to gradually hand over to the governmental health care system.
