東日本大震災に際してクウェート政府から日本政府に寄贈された原油500万バレルを原資として、約400億円が日本赤十字社（日赤）に寄付されました。日赤では、この寄付金をもとに被災3県の復興事業を進めており、福島県においては文化財の修復、原発事故被害の中小企業支援などに充てる予定です。

English Description
The Kuwaiti government provided donation in the form of 5 million barrels of crude oil to the Japanese government to assist the survivors of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and JPY 40 billion converted from the oil was donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS). The JRCS implements its recovery programs for the affected three prefectures by using the donation. Programs for Fukushima Prefecture will be restoring of cultural properties, assistance for small- and mid-sized enterprises affected by the nuclear accident and others.
