日本赤十字社（日赤）は、東日本大震災・福島第一原発事故で被災した福島県飯舘村立草野・飯樋・臼石小学校に対して仮設体育館の建設を支援していましたが、この度完成しました。被災後、飯舘村の多くの村民が川俣町に避難しており、川俣町内の小学校に間借りして授業を継続していましたが、教育環境の改善を図るため、飯舘村草野・飯樋・臼石小学校を建設することとなりました。日赤は海外救援金を用いてこの小学校の体育館建設を支援していました。
English Title
Temporary gymnasium in Iitate village had completed by Japanese red Society's support
English Description
A temporary gymnasium of a joint school of three elementary schools from Iitate Village of Fukushima Prefecture was constructed in Kawamata Town. The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) supported the construction by using international donations from Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the world. After the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, many of Iitate people evacuated to Kawamata and the children were provided classes at a school in Kawamata. To improve their educational environment, the joint school was built.
