震災から6ヶ月が経過し、この間日本赤十字社は医療支援を提供する中心的な機関として活動をしてきた一方、長期化する避難生活を送る被災者に対して様々な支援を行っています。中でも、被災者が普通に暮らしている感覚を取り戻すことが最優先の項目です。このため、避難生活を送る被災者に生活家電セットを寄贈したり、ボランティアたちが仮設住宅で様々なイベントを開催して、被災者たちが孤独を感じることを防止する活動などが行われています。

Six months have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. During that period of time, the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) has mainly provided medical relief activities. The JRCS has also offered other assistance for the affected people. The highest priority is to give them a sense of ordinary life. According to the priority, the JRCS has provided household electric appliances sets. And JRC volunteers have held various events at temporary housing to prevent the affected people to feel isolated.
