The Third Reference Group Meeting on Nuclear & Radiological Emergency Preparedness was joined by 16 National Societies and held in Fukushima, the affected area. The objective of the meeting was to discuss preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergencies and the IFRC guidelines. On Day 1, the participants visited the Fukushima Red Cross Hospital. Dr. Yoichi Watanabe, Deputy Director General of the Fukushima Red Cross Hospital, made a presentation about the relief activities conducted by the JRCS during the nuclear disaster. Dr. Akira Ohtsuru, Professor of Fukushima Medical University, explained the Health Management Survey for Fukushima citizens.
