OCICAは石巻市・牡鹿半島の“鹿”を活かした手仕事ブランドです。
English Description
OCICA is handcrafted jewelry by women in a small fishermen village in Oshika Peninsula, located northeast of Japan, where severely damaged by the tsunami and earthquake in March 11th 2011. Products are made of indigenous materials; deer horn (“Oshika” means deer in Japanese) and fishnet. OCICA necklace and earrings shape a motif of “Dream Catcher,” an amulet of native American. In Japan, deer horn has been traditionally a symbol of life, and people appreciate it as an amulet that is said to protect them from flood. Thin fishnet is being used to restore broken large fishnets for fishing. Women in Oshika make these accessories, praying for their community and the disaster areas to be rebuilt, and for the happiness and dreams of all of you wearing and cherishing OCICA.
