Item Description
I am Christian Molina, a senior at Saint Joseph Preparatory Highschool. My perspective on this whole triple disaster was kind of blind at first since I had no idea that this had happened. Once it was brought to my attention that these tragic natural disasters had occurred, it was honestly confusing how more attention had not been brought to it. The most surprising thing to me was the number of casualties that happened due to these disasters. I figure if anything would bring attention to this it would be the number of innocent lives that had been lost. I still question why they wouldn't prepare for a tsunami for the nuclear power plants along with the seismic occurrence preparation. Especially in a country like Japan where tsunamis aren't exactly a rare occurrence. Something I take away from this is that you can never be sure that a natural disaster won't happen to you because it is evident that they can sneak up on you and come from nowhere, regardless of where you live. a tragic event like this should send a message to societies and countries that being prepared for events like these are always important and can save hundreds and even thousands of lives.
