My name is Shannon Daly and I think that after the 3/11 disasters people did a decent job with finding suitable places for shelter. Something that I found interesting when researching about the disaster shelters is that many of the elderly people did not mind living in the shelters. Even though they said that the shelters were not very comfortable, they would not want to go back to their normal lives. They would rather spend the time that they have left with their newly found friends. Additionally, I am still wondering how people in the shelters got a suitable amount of food to feed themselves and their families. I am also interested in learning about the mental effects that the disaster had on the people. I could never imagine what a disaster like that must be like and I want to know how people cope with it and how it is affecting them. Furthermore, after learning about the 3/11 disasters I know that I can never take what I have for granted. People were just out living their normal lives and the next thing they know, their home is gone. I think that society should learn that they need to have a plan for any type of disaster that could happen. They should know what to do incase of a huge emergency like this one.
