(Hope Step Japan!)

Item Description

HOPE STEP JAPAN! is a collective of Japanese residents mostly based in Amsterdam in the Netherlands who are concerned with issues that have arisen since the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11 March 2011, called “311″ in Japan. HOPE STEP JAPAN was formed after 311 and since the first anniversary of the disaster we have organized various fundraising and awareness events in different locations. During our exhibitions and cultural events, we invite speakers such as working professionals from different fields or concerned citizens in and from Japan, to talk about the most important issues related to post 311 Japan from different angles. Our mission is to create a platform for people who are concerned about and willing to learn and be connected to the issues related to 311. By studying different subjects and rethinking our current living conditions together, we want to apply the findings to our daily life and discover positive steps forward that can be relevant beyond any borders or nationalities. We hope not only for Japan but for the entire globe to build a safer environment for future generations

わたしたち、HOPE STEP JAPAN（以下HSJ）はオランダアムステルダム周辺にを拠点に活動をする日本人有志で構成されています。同じような疑問をもち、共に考えることを欲するひとたちのゆるやかなつながりです。状況の変化にともないメンバーが増えたり減ることもありますし、HSJチームとして「反原発」のような強い政治的メッセージも掲げておりません。もちろん、そのような意見を個人が、またそれぞれの強度でもっていたとしても、それをあえて前に押し出すのではなく、原発問題の背後にある複合的な日本社会の問題、世界社会の問題などをできるだけ多角的視点で学び、共に考えて行くことにわたしたちの活動の重をおいています。つまりそのようなことが実現できるプラットフォームを引き続き作り出して行きたいと考えています。わたしたちは自然必然的に集まり、共に考えることを続け、その時に浮上してくる重要なテーマや問題意識をより多くのひとたちと考える場を設けます。その規模や時期は様々なかたちは、必要に応じてつくりあげて行きたいと考えています。
