Communicative memory is an informal, orally transmitted form of memory.  Based on life experiences, direct perceptions, and personal emotions. Usually this kind of memory consists of firsthand accounts, eyewitness recollections, and experiences shared by survivors. 

Cultural memory is a formal, institutionalized form of memory, closely tied to societal cultural inheritance and historical construction.
