English Title
"Value of Manufacturing Imports to Japan, 1996 - 2015"
English Description

In Fig. 2 of the linked report, the caption analyzes the import rates of Asia at large to Japan in contrast to Chinese imports. Notably, China significantly outpaces other Asian nations in imports to Japan, even pre-Fukushima meltdown. Therefore, this displays that Sino-Japanese trade relations flourished even despite territorial disputes, which speaks to the economic benefits created by the normalization treaty, and supplements the argument about fishery trade being central to ensuring diplomacy between the two governments, while also showing how fishery trade benefits civilian livlihoods.
