Many full time foreign professors and international students left Japan after the triple disaster happened apprehending the safety living conditions in Japan. The exodus became a setback to the internationalization of Japanese universities. However, some people believe the crisis may give reform of internationalizing the higher education system and accelerate cross-national cooperation.
