We can live here anymore Survivors of devastated Miyagi village tell their stories - The Mainichi Daily News
Item Description
The coastal area in the town of Yamamoto, Miyagi Prefecture, once held hundreds of homes, but only a scant few destroyed houses are left standing here now. An entire stretch of coastal road known as the "Strawberry Line" lies destroyed by the tsunami. In rice fields along the JR Joban Line, scattered freight train cars lie on their side. Loved family members and neighbors, homes of many years -- everything was carried away by the waters, and everyone was helpless to stop it.
