Trip to Rikuzen takata, summer 2016

Item Description
My husband, my son and I went to Rikuzentakata, Iwate prefecture during the summer of 2016. The Kibonokakehashi, the Bridge of Hope, the conveyer belt which carried a lot of soil from the mountain to the tsunami inundated had been taken down. The scenery was completely changed from the previous year, just bare with high rise soil. One section of old town was sort of developed for tourists. There were a few souvenir shops and restaurants. The site where the Yagisawa Soy Sauce brewery used be was now replaced with a temporary prefabricated container store . The shop sells soy sauce ice cream. The soy sauce ice cream sounds weird, but we had to try it. The caramel and salty ice cream tasted so delicious on the hot day. A construction worker came to store and ordered the ice cream. There is nothing around the reconstruction areas, so it must be an oasis for the construction workers to take a little break.
