Item Description
Personal Story of where I was and what I was doing on the day of the earthquake. 2:46pm. I was listening to the J-wave radio station, on the way to tennis practice in Omotesando, and the announcer stopped and said there was an earthquake. My sister and I looked outside of the car and the poles were shaking left and right. The tennis instructor underestimated the earthquake, so we continued to our tennis practice at the Jingu Tennis courts. Several times throughout the practice, the fence started shaking and we decided to go home. Normally it would take 20 minutes to go home from Jingu, but on the day, it took 2 hours to get home. My mom and I went to the liquor store to stock up on water and juice because the convenience store near our house was nearly empty. My family decided to leave for Seattle temporarily after the two nuclear plants blew up.
