Harvard Workshop at ASIJ

Item Description
I was in my second grade classroom when the earthquake came. When the ground started shaking, I could tell it was going to be big. Our school would practice earthquake drills every year so I knew to instantly ducked down under the table. Even after the bigger earthquake, the shake came in waves and the ground kept shaking every few minutes so we were under the tables for quite a while. I could hear some kids crying and screaming in my classroom. When my mom came to pick me up, instead of going back home, I went over to my friend's house. Living on the 26th floor, we didn't have a choice of going back home with the elevator not working for safety reasons.
