2018 Harvard Workshop at ASIJ - 3/11 Fukushima Disaster

Item Description
I was in 3rd grade when the 3/11 earthquake hit Japan. A students mother was doing a presentation in class and was standing behind my seat. I felt a constant kick on my chair and thought the mother was doing it. I was bothered by it, but when books started to fall from the shelves, I realised it was an earthquake. The whole class went under their desks and was soon evacuated to the field. It was my first time experiencing an earthquake and as a young boy, I did not know how big of a deal it was. We stayed in the field for many hours and those hours were very boring. I saw students cry and students chasing each other around the field. All I was thinking of is when my mom was going to pick me up.
