My 3/11 Experience (ASIJ)

Item Description
One moment I was lounging on the couch watching television–the next I was crouching under the dinner table and could only wait. My father and sister, on the family weekly grocery expedition, left thirty minutes prior while my mother and I enjoyed the fruits of cable television. As we watched, I remember a sudden tremor and I was told to retreat to under the dinner table. The tremors continued for a prolonged five minutes as the apartment building nauseatingly rocked. As I was only 4th grade at the time, I remember actually having fun as if the building were a roller coaster, instead of taking it seriously which I should have. Upon the ceasing of the tremors, my father called to check if we were okay. Both parents were confused more than anything.
